My research interests include law and educational policy in public and private education. I teach courses in law and education, social foundation of education, philosophy of education, American educational theory, and higher education.


Projects on which I have worked:
Photo History of Bucknell Clickable Maps of Bucknell in various stages of its development allow the user to see pictures of buildings as they change over the years as well as read about Bucknell's History
Issues in Pennsylvania School Law Excerpts from the the PA School Code, selected court cases, Basic Education Circulars, and Re gulations of the State Board of Education are organized in the areas of teacher dismissal, suspension and demotion. Material on student dismissal/expulsion, corporal punishment, and student rights is also included but not completed.

FOUN This page is designed to supplement FOUN (The Law, The Courts, and the Public Schools). The content of this semina r includes an analysis of the legal basis for the public schools, the relationship of the federal and state appelllate courts to schooling, and various effects of major judicial decisions on school policies.
EDUC 350/650 This page is designed to supplement ED 250 (Higher Education in the United States). This course examines the history of higher education in the U.S. This page will have interactive clickable maps of Pennsylvania that trace the development of higher education in the state. The Universities can be classified and viewed based on date of founding, religion of school, and gender of school. Requires Macromedia Director plugin
EDUC 432/674 This page is designed to supplement EDUC 432/674 (The Legal Aspects of Education). This course analyzes the interaction of law and schools in contemporaray American society regarding educational policies, practices and problems.
EDUC 308/608 This page is designed to supplement EDUC 308/608 ( Philosophy of Education), which is a systematic analysis of of the work of repres entative Western philosophers on education, including Plato, Aristotle, Rousseau, Kant , and Dewey. It focuses on epistemological, metaphysical, and methodological issues.
EDUC 370/670 This page is designed to supplement EDUC 370/670 (Public School Law), which examines federal and state constitutinal and statutory influences on public schools. Emphasis is placed on Pennsylvania statutes, regulations, and judicial decisions affecting teachers and students.
