Lin and Frank visit

My sister Lin and her husband Frank come to visit in early June - we started out at Tunnel Beach (43kb) Off to the peninsula - here we are at the top of Sandymount (38kb) The summit of Sandymount (26kb) A little cool at the top! (44kb) Out to Sandfly Bay to try to see yellow eyed penguins come ashore at dusk (17kb)
We had to give the Hooker sea lions a wide berth (34kb) They don't look too fierce here, but you never know (31kb) It was too dark to take pictures, but we saw about 15 penguins from the DOC penguin hide (31kb) Starting home in the dark (57kb) A beautiful evening - this is about 6pm (21kb)
A few days later, evening in Queenstown, with the Remarkables in the background (25kb) Horse riding near Glenorchy, crossing the Dart and Rees Rivers (23kb) Joe loved the trotting and he even cantered - the fog never cleared, but the frost was cool (19kb) That's Tammy's horse, taking a drink (15kb) Back at the stables - the photo was taken by a Bentley College student! Last day in Queenstown, downtown near the lake (47kb) We got Lin to go up the gondola for the views (34kb) The Remarkables (24kb) 2 days after this picture, the area got 20cm of snow, which covered the mountains (33kb) Queenstown was a lot colder on this visit than on our earlier trips in the summer!
