Fall in Dunedin

May/03 - A walk down to Boulder Beach on the peninsula - but first, we started out on the Highcliff Track (24kb) A steep slant to the track at first - better suited for the 4-legged sheep! (33kb) Not a crowded place . . . it took about 90 minutes of walking to get here (29kb) A storm came up during the walk - with a chill wind, rain, and then hail! (22kb) The ocean got rough, and we took off back to the car! (15kb)
May 03 - Sunset over St Clair and St Kilda beaches (21kb) Mailboxes come in all shapes and colors in Dunedin (29kb) A little cool in the house - so Sara took to her electric blanket to do her homework (26kb) Larnach Castle - out on the peninsula, and the only castle in NZ (34kb) I thought this was a nice, subtle, sophisticated way of saying
Spectacular views from the stable area - Larnach built the castle in the 1870's (58kb) Joe and Sara admiring the view and the gardens, which are being restored after the Barker family bought the dilapidated castle in 1967 (47kb) The back of the castle from the grounds (63kb) Lots of items from Alice in Wonderland are scattered across the grounds (89kb) The view from the top of the tower, looking down the coast of the peninsula toward Sandymount (36kb)
And the view looking to the mouth of the harbor down the length of the peninsula (24kb) Tam and Sara on the top of the tower (20kb) Fall in our yard (77kb) Still a few flowers, and some of the trees are changing their leaves (97kb) A few roses are left . . . (40kb)
And our contribution to the garden - pansies and these other flowers, which are doing quite well (97kb)
