Morekai

We took a trip north from Dunedin to Waitame, one of the berry capitals of NZ and a place where they have wallabies (56kb) Joe feeding one of the adult wallabies - I couldn't get Sara and Tammy away from the babies (62kb) Then we headed to the Morekai Boulders, about 45 minutes north of Dunedin on the coast (25kb) These boulders formed naturally here, and they are found no where else in the world (34kb) There used to be a lot more of them - but all the smaller ones got carted away by souvenir hunters (28kb)
After a while, they might break open and collapse (35kb) Here is one that is still on the beach - with erosion, it will eventually join its mates in the sea (61kb) It was a beautiful place to hang out for a while (29kb) And it was another beautiful mid-February summers day (56kb)
