The recent work of Dan Mills (American, b. 1956) addresses and incorporates a variety of themes and imagery including cartography, humor, imperialism, satire, cartoon characters, landscape, and portraiture. Mills has had recent solo shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, Tianjin, and several US colleges. His work has been included in group exhibitions in New York, Beijing, Chicago and throughout the US. The series "US Future State Atlas" was the subject of a book published by Perceval Press in 2009.
