1994-present:

Associate Professor of Dance in the Department of Theater and Dance at Bucknell University teaching all levels of ballet, Pointe and variation, jazz, dance conditioning, Chinese traditional dance, Chines Peking Opera's props, Chinese folk dance and T'ai Chi. Foundation Seminar. Introduction to Movement. Director of Bucknell Dance Company. Responsible for curriculum development in ballet and cross-cultural dance forms, including the introduction of Ballet III, Variations, T'ai Chi and Chinese Traditional and folk dance, and Peking Opera's props.

1990-1994:

Principal dancer with Dayton Ballet with Directors Stuart Sebastian, James Clouser and Dermott Burke. Guest teacher for Dayton Ballet company class and in Dayton Ballet School, teaching men's classes, pointe and partnering. The oldest regional company in the United States, Dayton Ballet produces a varied repertoire of original ballet, jazz and modern works and commissioned pieces of artists such as Anthony Tudor, Robert Joffrey and Doug Varone. Ongoing children programs and seasonal works such as "Nutcracker" frame a company sponsored by private, public and corporate funds.


1987-1990:

Teaching Assistant in the Department of Dance at the University of Iowa teaching beginning and intermediate ballet and men's classes and serving on technical production staff (crew, sound, lights).


1984-1986:

Faculty member in B.F.A. program of Beijing Dance Academy teaching specialist courses in Chinese Traditional dance including sword, Chinese Traditional dance style (Shen Yun). Choreography for student performances and demonstrations. Committee member revising national curriculum for Chinese Traditional forms.


1976-1980:

Instructor of Dance at Beijing Dance Academy teaching professional children's technique classes (ages 11-16) in Chinese Traditional forms based on Beijing Opera and Russian ballet principles. Choreography for student performances and demonstrations

GUEST TEACHING

2000 Teaching at University of Wisconsin's Milwaukee Dance Department. Teaching Chinese Traditional Dance and a second class regarding Chinese Folk Dance. Guest teacher teaching Milwaukee Ballet School Second Company.

Teaching Modern Company Master Class at Wisconsin, Dance Work Company.

2000 Teaching all levels of Ballet at The Five College of Mount Holyoke. Guest Choreographer for Ballet program for the American College Dance Festival Assoc. (ACDFA) festival, chosen at the Gala performance as one of five extremely good performances. Piece entitled, "The Path of the Soul."

1997 "Prelude to Sunrise": 5-minute contemporary ballet combining classical ballet movement with Chinese Folk Dance utilizing Chinese fan techniques. Set against traditional Chinese folk songs, the trio was commissioned by the University of Georgia, Department of Dance, January 1997.


1996 "First Blush": 14-minute contemporary ballet en pointe for eleven dancers. Music by Bach. Re-choreographed after original work by Er-Dong Hu and Danna Frangione. Commissioned by the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, Dance Division, November, 1996.


1995 "The Spirit of Nature": 15-minute work for ten dancers blending the costumes and techniques of traditional Chinese long-sleeve dancing with modern dance and ballet. Set against music by Prokofiev, the piece was re- staged from its Bucknell format for the commission by Chinese Arts High School in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C. for season presentation and national touring in Taiwan.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

2001 Research study in Beijing, China and Shang Hai, China for purposes of studying with a famous Master teacher of Tai Chi sword artistry. The Master teacher's students include Jet Lee, whose practice and teaching was video recorded as part of the research trip.

1999 "Echoes from Shangri-La": 15-minute work for nine dancers blending
the costumes and techniques of traditional Chinese,Tibeten folk dance and drum with modern dance and ballet. Music by Chinese Tibetan folk song . The piece was produced by Bucknell Dance Company .


1998 "Sensitivity": 8-minute modern dance with the techniques from Chinese Traditional dance and T'ai Chi for four dancers . Music by John Williams ,Produced by Bucknell Dance Company and reviewed by Carolyn Hall.


1998 "Take Flight": 12-Minute work for twelve dancers. The techniques blended with Chinese folk dance, ballet and modern technique. The piece was produced by the Bucknell Dance Company , along with sixty people from the Bucknell University Chorale as well as live music. Conducted by David R. Erb from the Music Department. Reviewed by Kimberly Bartosik.

1997 "Beyond Fashion": 12-minute ballet jazz en pointe for five dancers set against jazz music. Produced by Bucknell Dance Company and reviewed by Anthony Phillips.

"Succession of Descent": 8-Minute work for Four dancers. The techniques blended with Chinese folk dance (Fans),Peking opera's water sleeves, modern and ballet pointe technique, piece was produced by Bucknell Dance Company and reviewed by Anthony Phillips.
