Course description:

German 101 is a course in which students develop the ability to understand spoken and written language, to communicate their thoughts and ideas in German in both speaking and writing, and to get to know and understand culture of the German speaking countries. In this course we will take advantage of the newest technology available for foreign language teaching. We will work with computer programs, watch videos and 'travel' to Germany via the Internet.

The course meets every day of the week, and regular attendance is essential! Our classroom is located in the Vaughan Literature Building , Room 102. On Thursdays you will meet with the German language assistant, Silke Reinhard for intensive speaking practice. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we meet in the Multimedia Lab in the Library, Lower Level One.

Class participation is essential. Every two classes missed will result in a lowering of the final grade by 0.5 grade.
