How to Submit your HTML Project

Congratulations: you've finished the HTML Project and are ready to turn in your work for a grade! In order to do so, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a new folder entitled "yourusrname."
  2. Put into it all html and image documents that constitute your contribution to the Archive. Note: Include ONLY those html and image files I need to post your assignment to the web. Including backup files, unused image files, and so on, will seriously lower your grade.
  3. Drop a copy of the folder and all its contents in my dropbox. (Instructions at the end of this document.)
  4. Prepare and hand in to me a well-organized packet containing "hard copies" of the following documents:

The WORD (or other typed) document described above should provide the following information :

  1. Your name and e-mail address. If you've worked in a group, list all members' names, but only the e-mail address of the contact person (i.e., the person with whom I should correspond should problems arise). If you don't do e-mail, provide a campus or snail-mail address.
  2. Complete bibliographical information for the copy-text
  3. Name of library housing the copy-text, including name of special collection, if any.
  4. Names of individuals who keyed in the copy-text and individual(s) who proofread. These must be two different people. [This is necessary for the process of certifying that an edition has been prepared according to the scholarly standards set by the Modern Language Association.]
  5. A complete list of all changes you've made from the copy-text. Be as detailed and specific as possible.
  6. A list of all images (including background images) that are currently copyright protected, followed by their status (e.g., permission requested; permission requested and received; permission requested but denied; and so forth).
  7. A list of all images (including background images) that you've obtained from public domain (such as clipart archives), including the name and URL of site. Note: all images you submit will fall into one of these two categories.
  8. A statement specifying one of the following options: I(we) do/do not wish you to consider this work for possible publication in The Online Archive of Nineteenth-Century U.S. Women's Writings. Note: your answer to this question will not affect your grade; it will only tell me whether to proceed beyond the act of grading.
  9. 50-word biography for each contributor (only if you're submitting your work for possible inclusion in The Archive).
  10. Your signature. In case you've worked with a group, the signatures of all group members must be included.

Optional: Students wishing to submit their Archive Assignment for possible publication MAY include the following in their WORD document:
