The CPDTC's current training location is at the Selinsgrove Center Gymnasium. This location offers us a large indoor space during the winter months, and a large level grassy area during the warmer weather.

Group training is offered from 7 - 8 p.m., and gives our therapy a chance to work in close proximity with other dogs, and encourages socialization.
Individual training takes place from 8 - 8:45 p.m. and gives our members who are interested in advanced obedience training and/or competition to hone their skills and try new techniques.

At certain times during the year, we offer puppy/new dog classes for owners who want to learn baxic obedience and socialization skills with their dog. Upon completion of that course, owners are invited to join the CPDTC to continue their training and encouraged to work towards the Canine Good Citizen Test, Therapy Dog certification and other advanced training. Please contact Loyal Jones (loyaljones@hotmail.com) for information on class schedules.

While the focus of the CPDTC is largely obedience-based, we support our members wide variety of interests, ranging from being AKC Canine good citizen dogs and therapy work, formal obedience competition, conformation, and agility, to name a few.

You will find our members active in competition and conformation events, helping other clubs as stewards and judges, making regular therapy visits to local hospitals, nursing homes and schools, and helping to train other dogs and handlers.

Interests of are members are varied, and training takes place both on as individuals or groups, depending on the member's focus.

During our weekly training sessions, we typically work on obedience, Canine Good citizen or Therapy Dog exercises, or practice for upcoming therapy visits by practicing our square dancing or other exercises used in our obedience demonstrations.
