Travel Grants Available for 12th Annual IAFFE Conference

The International Association for Feminist Economics, IAFFE, has a limited number of travel grants available to help support travel from the South and East/Central Europe to the 12th annual IAFFE conference at theUniversity of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus St. Michael, Barbados, West Indies, June 27-29.

All topics addressing or engaging with gender and economics are welcome.

Special topics for panels include:
~ Comparative analysis of the gender and race dimensions of contingent work and informal labor markets
~ African diasporic women and communities
~ Effects of reproductive technologies and social policy on fertility rates and demographic trends
~ Gender dimensions of macroeconomic policies
~ Globalization, work, and women's human rights
~ Tourism and gender
~ Transmigration: social and economic challenges
~ Transforming the development paradigm through engendered leadership
~ International feminist alliances for social and economic change

IAFFE welcomes applications from scholars and activists working on these or any other economic issues of concern for women, men and children. IAFFE values disciplinary diversity and encourages both economists and non-economists to apply. Individuals who wish to be considered for those funds should submit a letter of intent, a resume or curriculum vitae, and a full paper or long summary (abstracts are not sufficient). To aid the selection committee, the letter should explain where the applicant lives and works, why the funding is being sought, has the applicant previously received funding from IAFFE, and whether any other sources of funding are available. Applicants who are living in the North should state whether this is temporary or permanent.
