CHROMATIN
Function: Chromatin is DNA wound tightly around proteins called histones. The importance
of chromatin is that it is the form that DNA assumes when the cell is
ready to divide, as opposed to its loose counterpart, chromosomes, which
are used for the process of transcription. Related Organelles: Nucleus |
