Location:
- Within the cytoplasm, surrounded by nuclear membrane.
Function:
The cell nucleus forms the package for our genes and their controlling
factors It is located in the cytoplasm of the cell. It:
- Stores genes in the form of chromosomes, which allows for cell division,
- Transports gene products by way of nuclear pores,
- Produces the messages that code for proteins,
- Produces ribosomes in the nucleolus,
- Organizes the uncoiling of DNA to replicate important genes.
