The Building Leaders for the Susquehanna Valley program allows a group of regional high school students to spend about one day a month investigating the world outside the school grounds in a variety of community settings. One of the activities in 1999 through 2001 has been a tour of the Anthracite region. The group is shown below taking a lunch break before learning about the passive mine drainage treatment system at Scarlift Site 42.
