Current Project:
Professor McLain’s main area of teaching and research interest is
religion and visual culture in modern India. Her
book, India's Immortal Comic Books: Gods, Kings, & Other Heroes,
won the Edward Cameron Dimock Jr. Book Prize in the Indian Humanities by
the American Institute of Indian Studies and
is forthcoming with Indiana University Press in 2009.
