Current Project:
Professor McLain's main area of teaching and research interest is religion and
visual culture in modern India. Her book, India's Immortal Comic Books: Gods,
Kings, & Other Heroes (Indiana University Press, 2009), is a study of
India's most beloved comic book series, Amar Chitra Katha. It won the
Edward Cameron Dimock Jr. Book Prize in the Indian Humanities by the American
Institute of Indian Studies. |
