BISKIT: Bucknell Introductory Statistics ToolKIT

BISKIT is a MATLAB toolbox (a set of Mfiles) that can be used for basic instruction on the topic of statistics and data analysis. It is not a full-featured, amazing collection of whiz-bang computational routines that will be invaluable to the professional statistician. Rather, it is meant to be a useful collection of routines that are the starting point for data display, analysis and interpretation. It's free (that can be good news or bad news) and under continual development.

The pages here are a combination of tutorial and documentation. While I would hope that the on-line help is sufficient for getting the syntax for the functions right, beginners in statistics and MATALB usually benefit from some more explicit instruction and examples.

Finally, I should let you know that I am not a statistician. I am an engineer that uses (and continues to learn more about) statistics. Writing the routines that make up BISKIT has been my way of learning the details of statistical concepts and computations. If you should find errors in my assumptions or computations, please let me know about them and what the errors are. If you have suggestions for improvements, feel free to send them along. You are welcome to extend the toolbox by adding new or improved routines.
