Labs - Sheets that give
you information about the labs.
-
Lab Schedule & Requirements
-
Labs (except for Lab 0)
run either 3 or 4 weeks
-
In the first week, learn
about the system, modify code, try to get measurements, etc.
-
In the second week, take
data and write a rough draft. Get that rough draft checked off by
the instructor, and get his comments on your work to date.
-
In the last week, present
results. Labs will include an oral presentation by the group leader.
Everyone in the lab group must present at least one oral report during
the semester. (And, it is expected that the entire group will be
present at the presentation to answer questions on their contribution.)
The oral report will be based on the written report, and will count for
10 points out of 50 for the lab.
-
After the last week of
lab, you have one week to finalize the report, making changes from what
you learned from comments on the rough draft and questions and comments
on the presentation.
-
The audience for your
report is a set of colleagues. The audience is not the course instructor,
and you should avoid comments within the report directed to the instructor.
-
When your report is finished,
hand in a hard copy, and e-mail me with your report attached. When
you name the file, the name should include the lab number and description
and the initials of team members. Do not include any blanks in file
names. I will make your report avaiable over the net and blanks will
foul up Unix servers.
-
Peer Review - Hand this
sheet in to Debbie or your instructor. It should be done separately
and not attached to the final version of the lab report. It is due
when the lab report is due.
