In my experience,
with this grading scheme, average grades are higher than you would normally
get. Everyone can get an A, but conversely, everyone could fail.
It's just not my experience that everyone fails, and it is my experience
that most students do better with this system.

NOTES ON GRADING
Labs will include an oral presentation by the
group leader. Everyone in the lab group must present at least one
oral report during the semester.
The oral report will be based on the written
report, and will count for 10 points out of 50 for the lab.
Homework assignments and lab assignments have
a required (color coded) cover sheet which must be used for every submission.
The instructor reserves the right to assign
bonus points to an entire team that performs exceptionally well on an exam.
Bonus points on an hour exam would be 5 points max. Bonus points
for the final would be 10 points max. I will ask for your opinion
of whether that is a feasible method, and the final decision will be mine.
In no case will there be a penalty for this factor.
