ELEC 480 – Notes on Grading Identification Projects:

In grading laboratory reports, different aspects of the report are graded differently. Here are grading schemes for the different aspects of the report.

Grade for Technical Portion of Report for Lab 1 (Identification) What is in report:

Grade	What is in the report.
0	It worked! (Apparently a miracle occurred.)
1	It worked and the results checked.
. . .
6	Took data, analyzed it correctly(and showed that clearly), system parameters calculated
7	Requirements for 6 + showed transfer function with numerical parameters
8	Requirements for 7 + predicted the response of the system under the conditions used for gathering data.
9	Requirements for 8 + compared the predicted response with lab measurements.
10	Requirements for 9 + evaluated how well the transfer function works for prediction purposes, drawing on the comparison for 9.

There are some other requirements that you need to meet.

Rough drafts are required. You should begin writing your report as soon as you start doing the lab. The week before the lab is due, ask your instructor to look over your draft. It will not be graded, but comments will be given to help you improve the report with the goal of producing the best possible lab report.
Every person in the lab team must submit a completed Peer Evaluation Form. These should be submitted individually, and not with the lab report.
