Week
8 - LabVIEW Introduction - in progress
Here are my thoughts on the eighth week's material, etc.
-
This segment is an introduction
to LabVIEW
-
Students get an introduction
to simple programming concepts in LabVIEW
-
Variable types
-
Arithmetic and trignonometric
manipulations
-
Loops
-
Lab this week consists
of just getting acquainted with LabVIEW and getting some familiarity with
the programming environment it presents.
-
Do some arithmetic computations.
-
Implement loops
-
Display signals using
a variety of indicators.
-
In-Class exercises
-
Class Notes - Good
-
Some things to think about.
-
This draws on things they
have learned in Matlab, or any other programming language they have encountered.
I need to get a better measure early on about what they have learned, particularly
in Matlab - things like loops, etc.
-
Sensors encountered to
this point in the course.
-
Thermocouples
-
LM35s - giving two examples
of sensors with voltage outputs
-
Thermistor - giving an
example of a sensor with a resistance change.
-
AC Tachometers
-
Pressure Sensors
-
Strain Gages
-
Light Sensors (Photovoltaic
cells)
