        Dr. Abner Mallity needs your help.  As usual, he can't follow directions.  He's trying to build a circuit to produce a constant voltage from a sinusoidal signal.  Not being able to see the stripe on the diode doesn't help him, and he has put the circuit together as shown below - with the diode in backwards.
