Equipment Consignment Sale
Located at the Middleburg Livestock Auction, Saturday, September 3, 2005, 9:00 a.m. 3 miles east of Middleburg, PA on Rt. 522; 570-837-2222, Bill Weist Manager, AH1783
This is not a personal auction and is likely to be dominated by farmers and others in rural businesses. This location is a livestock auction that has sales on Tuesdays and Saturdays and once a month sells the horses that the Amish buy for their buggies. It is a major rural institution for Western Snyder County (that's the county in which Selinsgrove is located.) The auction house is about 1/2 hour southwest of Lewisburg. We had a student working there for SOCI 201 last spring and it is a fascinating place. This auction might just be the first step and going there might make it easier for you to figure out how to see the livestock auctions which are famous for being big, complicated operations. The are very local and an important service for local farmers.
