Melissa Ocampo (class of 2020)

My name is Melissa Ocampo and I'm originally from New Jersey. I am currently a first-year at Bucknell pursuing a B.S. in Biology.

I am a STEM scholar and have worked in Professor Takahashi's lab since this past summer. My photo is of me presenting a poster of my summer research at the Sigma Xi poster session. I have done research on competition between wood frog tadpoles and spotted salamander larvae on the size of spotted salamanders. This spring I am starting my own experiment studying the impact of road salt on competition between wood frog tadpoles and spotted salamander larvae.

I absolutely love animals and hope to attend veterinary school after I graduate from Bucknell. I also love anything that has to do with the outdoors and love going out in the field for experiments.
