P-V Diagram Steps
1-2 Vapor is compressed
3-4 Heat is removed from refrigerant
at constant pressure. First super heated vapor is cooled to saturated
vapor. The vapor then condenses with no change in temperature.
Finally, the liquid is cooled below saturation temperature.
5-6 Receiver holds sub cooled liquid
(no change in state, not shown on graphs)
7-8 Expansion Valve (Throttle) reduces
the pressure of the liquid.
8-9 Liquid is evaporated at a constant
pressure. Vapor is compressed |
