It is not hard to see that we can use 32 dominos to cover the squares of a chessboard, where each domino covers two adjacent squares. But in how many ways can a chessboard be tiled in this way? Can we still do it if we remove a corner square and the square from the opposite corner? We will talk about these questions and many others that highlight the fun and intrigue of tilings.
