Robotic Rig for Testing Bicycle Transmissions

Project Description: The goal of this project is to technically characterize the performance an innovative bicycle transmission. Human testing can be subjective. So we designed and built a robotic test rig that simulates the human rider and the resistance on the bicycle. We then used this to test the common sprocket-derailleur transmission and the new Powershift prototype. This project was sponsored by the Bucknell Small Business Development Center to help a new company in the development of their product.
