Dr. Shrivastava is passionate about triathlons. He learned to swim at the age of 28, ran his first full mile at the age of 50, and now runs a few Sprint and Olympic distance races each year.
He co-organized and co-directed the Bicycle Crossing Triathlon 2005 in Allentown, PA, and the Lehigh Valley Steelman Triathlon 2006 at Lake Nockamixon State Park. In 2007 he and his students from the “Managing with Passion” course at Bucknell University organized the Susquehanna Steelman Triathlon 2007 at the Shikellamy State Park, Sunbury, PA.
He is a USAT certified Level-1 Triathlon Coach, and trains throughout the year. He has incorporated triathloning into his course on "Managing with Passion". Students learn about events management, organize a triathlon event, train for it and participate in it.
