Introduction

Ulrich Daepp is Associate Professor of Mathematics at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. He was born and educated in Bern, Switzerland, and studied at the University at Bern before completing his Ph. D. at Michigan State University. Though his primary field of research is in algebraic geometry and commutative algrebra, he has also worked on algebraic and geometric questions concerning analytic functions and is currently working on a biography of the Swiss mathematician, Alice Roth.

Research Interests:

Algebraic Geometry: Monomial curves and number of generators.
Commutative Algebra: Local rings arising from geometric situations.
