Emergency Procedures Post these emergency instructions at all staff telephones and public service points. In case of an emergency that threatens library materials, do these things first.
Fire
1. Pull the fire alarm at the first sign of smoke.
2. Call Circulation or Reference Desk; Ext. 71882 or 71462
3. Desk calls Public Safety; Ext. 71111
4. Follow prescribed procedures for evacuating staff and patrons.
5. Desk initiates the Disaster Phone Tree.
6. Close doors as offices are evacuated.
Water
1. Call Circulation or Reference Desk; Ext. 71882 or 71462

6. Move affected materials to a dry area if possible.
7. Cover other affected materials. Plastic drop cloths are stored in stack areas.
